Book Review: Tracking Bodhidharma

Tracking BodhidharmaHow does an ancient Indian sage relate to the bombing of Pearl Harbor?  History took a long and winding road from the ancient Zen teacher Bodhidharma to the Japanese Imperial Court.  I reviewed a new book by Zen scholar Andrew Ferguson, which traces the history of Bodhidharma’s influence on the court life of China and later, Japan.  Part travelogue, part history, the book is an engaging introduction to Zen in China, as well as the modern manifestations of the religion.  Enjoy the review on the Buddhist Door website.
