A new poem of mine, “Changeling,” is up at Pangyrus this month. I also wrote a mini craft essay on the poem (you can click the link at the bottom of the poem to read it) which I think is interesting for poets and useful for non-poets! This poem centers on bringing my son home from the hospital and the sense of unreality and fear that pervaded our home for a long time after he returned, miraculously alive. I am so glad to see it in print.

“Changeling” comes from a manuscript I completed in graduate school, In the Salt. That manuscript was shortlisted by YesYes Books for their 2022 reading period, and continues to be honored with various Finalist and Semi-Finalist nods. I’m continuing to submit it and hoping that someone wants to take that manuscript all the way to becoming a book!
